Feature
Research panels: start from the decision type, not a blank picker.
Choosing models for a hard decision should not feel like assembling a fantasy roster from scratch. Research panels are curated starting lineups for Premium Research—peer count, research depth, and capability preferences matched to the kind of decision you face. You can accept the panel as-is or customize peers and chairman before you run.
What a research panel is
A research panel is a Premium Research preset. It recommends how many peer models sit on the council, which capability strengths to prefer (reasoning, critique, writing, coding, long context, and more), how deep the run should go (Standard, Deep, or Maximum), and a cost posture (budget, balanced, or maximum rigor). The product then fills seats from the live model catalog so the board stays current as models evolve.

Maximum rigor
High-stakes panel: more peers, premium tiers, and the deepest research depth for consequential commitments.
Customize when you need control
Panels are a starting point, not a lock-in. After you pick a panel you can swap peers, change the chairman, adjust depth, and review an estimated cost range before the run. Free Research does not use custom panels—it runs a fixed efficient lineup so daily research stays simple and predictable.
Is Balanced default the recommended starting panel?
Yes. Balanced default is designed for everyday consequential decisions: diverse labs, standard depth, and a cost-aware mix. Switch to a specialized panel when the decision type is clearer—finance, GTM, adversarial review, and so on.
Do research panels work on Free Research?
No. Free Research uses a fixed efficient model lineup so daily runs stay simple. Research panels and full model customization are part of Premium Research.
Can I save a custom panel?
Premium Research lets you customize peers and chairman for a run and keep preferences for next time. Use a curated panel when you want a fast, decision-typed start; customize when you need a specific lab or cost mix.
